About Lilias Conroy

Encouraged as a child by her mother and greatly influenced by her maternal grandmother (An artist by profession), Lilias drew and painted all that she saw. As a child, Lilias attended classes at the Glasgow School of Art and won numerous awards. As a young adult, she worked mainly in pencil and oils, her rural upbringing providing her inspiration.

As a member of the Embroiders Guild, Lilias attended the Galashiels College of Textiles and was tutored in the art of Silk Painting. She was enthralled by the luxuriousness of the smooth silk fabric and the brilliance of the Colours. No other technique or material can produce such luminous Colours or magical results.
